Kuzbass yards overflow with garbage after New Year holidays
Residents of Kuzbass are complaining daily on social media about mountains of garbage that are appearing near houses due to delays in container cleaning schedules. According to townspeople, including posts published on Tuesday, January 20, equipment has stopped servicing yards consistently after the January holidays.
In comments under the governor«s posts, townspeople are daily sending photos of overflowing garbage collection points. There are so many bags that, according to residents of nearby houses, waste is simply dumped outside the containers and scattered onto roadways. Glass is also flying under car wheels, users say.
«It»s necessary to remove garbage on time and not create a breeding ground for rats and stray dogs,« a resident noted on social media.
Residents of many districts in Kemerovo, Leninsk-Kuznetsky, Yashkino, Osinniki, and Prokopyevsk, served by the companies «EkoTek» and «Chisty Gorod Kemerovo» (Clean City Kemerovo), have spoken about the waste removal problem.
Employees of the «Chisty Gorod» organization explained on social media that the cleaning process is hampered by abnormal frosts. At low temperatures, special equipment breaks down, mechanisms and hoses are damaged, and oil thickens.
«Schedules for solid municipal waste removal may be shifted. The regional operator promptly returns broken-down garbage trucks to routes, minimizing disruptions in the waste removal schedule,» company representatives stated.
In each case, employees are asking residents to wait for when they will come to clean the containers.
Meanwhile, the opening of a large waste sorting complex costing 4.5 billion rubles (approximately $45 million at current rates) in Kemerovo has been postponed for the third time. The editorial board of NGS42.RU reported on what happened with the facility that, according to residents« expectations, would save them from a garbage collapse.
