In Kurgan today, January 27, in-person classes for first through fourth grades in the city«s morning school shift have been canceled, according to the city administration»s website.
The morning temperature in the city was -27°C (-16.6°F). The Kurgan Center for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring forecasts daytime temperatures of -20 to -22°C (-4 to -7.6°F), with a southwest wind of 1-6 m/s.
Kurgan meteorologists warned that abnormally cold weather, with average daily temperatures 7°C or more below the climatic norm, would persist on January 27 in most districts of the Kurgan region.
School class cancellations in Kurgan began on January 21.
