Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park restricts visits to seven routes

The management of Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park explained how the new visiting rules will work. They published this information in their Telegram channel.
The new visiting rules came into effect on December 1, 2025. And despite the vigorous reaction, they are trying to reassure city residents:
«This is a nationwide practice for all federal nature reserves and national parks, related to ensuring visitor safety and their personal responsibility for walks (climbing rocks) outside certified routes,» they write.
Thus, visiting specially protected federal territories is now allowed only on certain equipped routes that have a passport certified by the Ministry of Natural Resources according to a government resolution.
Now even tourist walks can only be conducted in specially equipped places and routes. As a result of an inspection in Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park, seven such routes were found:
route «Nature is the Great Sculptor» (Central Rock Area);
route «Laletinsky» (Central Entrance);
route «Legends of Takmak» (Eastern Entrance);
eco-trail «Nature and Climate» (Kashtakovsky Entrance);
eco-trail «Book of Nature» (Central Entrance);
eco-trail «White Trail» (Central Entrance, NPC «Narym»);
eco-trail «Reserved Siberia» (Central Entrance, NPC «Narym»).
The park management assured that in 2026, the Kashtakovsky route will also become a permitted route for tourism. It will need to obtain a passport from the Ministry of Natural Resources.
Climbing rocks is now prohibited for tourists, since rock climbing is a sport included in a specific registry. Therefore, after the Ministry of Natural Resources introduced new rules, rocks can only be used by climbing federations and only by agreement with the institution that monitors specially protected territories.
The management clarifies that if a tourist still wants to go outside a certified route and gets injured, it is the tourist«s personal responsibility. And Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park is not responsible for the consequences.
Tours and other services in Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park must take place within the permitted zone.
Earlier, NGS24.RU reported that for violating these rules, a fine is also provided — 3,000 rubles (approximately $30 at current rates) for the first time, 4,000 rubles (approximately $40 at current rates) for the second.
For more details on what is wrong with the new visiting rules for Krasnoyarsk Stolby National Park, correspondent Alexey Taiganaut of NGS24.RU told. His opinion can be read in this material.
But the first deputy governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Sergey Ponomarenko, believes that Krasnoyarsk residents are worrying in vain and everyone will walk to Stolby as usual.
