Kirov Square Ice Slide to Close in February
The main New Year«s tree in Irkutsk is being actively dismantled in Kirov Square. However, the ice slide continues to operate for now. The editorial staff of »IrCity« found out when it will close.
The main tree together with the slide was opened on December 20. This year, there was no traditional ice town in Kirov Square. The city limited itself to only a few sculptures—Ded Moroz (Father Frost), Snegurochka (the Snow Maiden), the numbers 2026, two horses, a horseshoe, Konyok Gorbunok (The Little Humpbacked Horse), as well as a wishing desk and bears.
It is worth noting that there had been no slides in Kirov Square for 5 years. This year, everyone was allowed to use the slide—both adults and children. However, the rules stated that the attraction operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., after which it is put under guard.
The main tree is already being actively taken apart. As reported to the «IrCity» portal by the administration«s press service, the slide will begin to be dismantled on February 1. So all interested parties still have a chance to take a ride.
