Kemerovo to Demolish Rudnichny Bor Sports School Building
The unoccupied sports school building had stood vacant and unused for several years.
In Rudnichny Bor of Kemerovo, the building of Sports School No. 3 will be demolished. This was announced today, 5 February, by the press service of the city administration.
According to the mayor«s office, specialists will dismantle one of the school»s buildings, which is in disrepair. It has been idle and unused for several years. The facility«s other buildings will continue to operate.
«All the historic buildings of the sports school that are well known to residents, such as the one housing the sports equipment rental point and where the School of Guardians of Rudnichny Bor holds its classes, will remain,» the municipality explained.
The authorities stated that during the dismantling, nearby trees will be left untouched. They even plan to preserve those that are almost flush against the walls.
A new modular structure will subsequently be installed on the vacated site. It will also be used for the needs of the cross-country skiing sports school.
As NGS42.RU reported, earlier in Kemerovo, the construction of a thermal complex with a hotel was announced on a territory part of which is located in Rudnichny Bor. The proposed construction was criticized by activists who believe it could harm the unique ecosystem.
