Kazan pledges Dubravnaya Street sewer fix by year-end

On Dubravnaya Street, authorities plan to upgrade a section of the sewer collector by the end of the year, where utility accidents with floods and unpleasant odors frequently occur. The reconstruction was announced by the Kazan city hall.
The flood on January 18 caused significant water damage and disrupted traffic on Dubravnaya Street.

‘According to Vodokanal (the water utility), reconstruction is being carried out in stages on the 5.5-kilometer sewer collector,’ the city administration said in response to complaints from residents about constant flooding.
At Dubravnaya 43a, where a sinkhole appeared recently, reconstruction has been completed.
‘We really hope to forget forever about this smelly problem on our street,’ responded Oksana, one of the local residents, to the city hall«s promise.
Residents of Dubravnaya regularly complain about utility accidents. At the end of last week, on January 18, the entire street was heavily flooded with water. Because of this, traffic jams formed on the section, and some houses were left without water.
A similar situation occurred here on December 19. Witnesses noticed flooding. Then Vodokanal reported an accident on the water pipe at Dubravnaya Street 31-33, due to which water supply was temporarily cut off in some houses.
