Kate and Meghan Engage in Peace Talks to Mend Royal Rifts

Princess Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are allegedly involved in peace talks after years of public quarrels, according to media reports.

In early December, Kate held her fifth annual Christmas service in London. In her message to guests, she spoke about the importance of extending a hand of help with generosity, understanding, and hope.

This message is particularly relevant for her this year — just a few months after she announced her remission following a battle with cancer. According to sources, the 43-year-old princess plans to privately extend an olive branch to Meghan, despite their cool relations.

Although Meghan is said to have sent well-wishes during Kate«s illness, the women have hardly communicated since the Sussexes left the royal family and moved to the U.S. in 2020.

Kate hopes to secure Meghan«s support in her endeavor to reunite Prince William and Prince Harry, while their seriously ill father, King Charles III, is still alive. She is even ready to go against her husband — William firmly opposes reconciliation with the Sussexes living in California.

As sources report, Kate sees in Harry«s wife the last chance to establish contact. »She painfully realizes that there is no path to Harry without Meghan«s approval,» said a source. That is why she is working with her team to find a viable approach to Meghan.

The relationship between the women is also clouded by past conflicts. During a high-profile TV interview in 2021, Meghan addressed rumors that she made Kate cry over Princess Charlotte«s dress before the wedding — claiming that it was Kate who made her cry. Moreover, in the same interview, Harry and Meghan stated that a member of the royal family expressed »concern« about how dark their son Archie»s skin might be; in the Dutch version of Omid Scobie«s book, Middleton was allegedly named.

However, Kate, being a skilled diplomat, apologized after the quarrel — Meghan acknowledged that she brought her flowers and a note of apology. But, as sources note, Meghan may find it hard to forgive Kate.

Kate herself does not plan to become close friends with Meghan, but believes that the chances of William and Harry reconciling will be higher if she and Meghan can find common ground. A starting point could be the children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis currently do not communicate with Archie and Lilibet living in California. «Meghan is incredibly sad that her children don»t know their cousins, and vice versa,« said a source.
