The severe January frosts in Voronezh will result in unpleasant figures on the bills that arrive in February for many residents. This concerns heating payments. «RIR Energo» explained who will have to pay more than usual.

Those whose buildings do not have a common building metering device (ODPU) need not worry: their payment will be the same as usual. However, for those whose buildings have an ODPU, the amount on the bill may be more than 30% higher — all because more heat is consumed in the cold.

As an example, the resource supply company cited an apartment of 53.7 sq. m at 63 Vladimir Nevsky Street. From November 24 to December 23 (the standard billing period), the average outdoor temperature was +0.1°C (32°F). The apartment consumed 1.1269 Gcal of heat over 30 days. With a tariff of 3633.11 rubles ($40 at current rates) per Gcal, the December payment was 4094.15 rubles ($45 at current rates).

And from December 24 to January 23, the average outdoor temperature was -7°C (19°F). The apartment on Vladimir Nevsky consumed 1.4713 Gcal of heat during this period. Accordingly, with the same tariff but in the cold, the heating payment rose to 5434.48 rubles ($60 at current rates).

Questions about bills can be directed to the hotline at +7 (473) 205-02-50 or via email at info@voronezh.rirenergy.ru. However, emails from the gmail.com domain will not reach «RIR Energo».
