In Chelyabinsk on Saturday, January 24, the operating hours of open-air ice rinks were reduced due to abnormally low temperatures, the city«s culture committee reported.
The published warning stated: «Today, ice rinks in Tereshkova Children»s Park, Gagarin Central Park of Culture and Recreation, and Pushkin City Garden will operate from 12:00 p.m. The 10:00 p.m. session at Tereshkova Children«s Park has been canceled.»
That same morning, due to frosts reaching -33°C (-27.4°F), classes in Chelyabinsk schools were canceled.
