Residents of two large residential complexes in Krasnoslobodsk have been suffering from horses freely roaming the streets for over six months. The animals feed on waste from garbage containers and uncontrollably enter the roadway, creating a traffic hazard.

One local resident from the Izumrudny residential complex reported that the appearance of horses on roads has repeatedly led to serious accidents. The herd has been grazing unsupervised since the summer of 2025, and its owner, who remains unknown, is taking no measures.

«They constantly wander around Krasnoslobodsk: breaking fences, overturning trash bins. There have been multiple serious traffic accidents where both drivers and horses suffered. Today they are roaming in the Vtoraya Pyatiletka area. Who the owner is — it»s unclear,« an eyewitness said.

The administration of Krasnoslobodsk has suggested that citizens write an appeal with exact addresses where the herds appear and promised to organize the capture of the animals.

«It»s a lengthy procedure. But in short — we ask the company that handles horse capture to catch the herd. Then, as soon as possible, their owner is found, who buys them back for a tidy sum,« the department explained.

An appeal indicating the locations of the horses has already been submitted to the local administration. Also, a corresponding request was sent to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Volgograd Region with a request to help identify the herd«s owner.

A similar situation previously occurred in the village of Malyaevka in the Leninsky District. There, a horse owner also let his horses roam freely, resulting in them entering children«s playgrounds and front gardens. Although the owner lived nearby, he could not be found, and the settlement head was unaware of the problem.
