Heating Returns to Central St. Petersburg Ahead of Schedule

Heat supply to central districts of St. Petersburg was restored two hours ahead of schedule after damage to a heating main was repaired. The outage had affected approximately thirty residential buildings.

Work to fix the defect on the «Apraksinskaya» heating main began during the day on 19 January. The temporary heat supply restriction affected approximately thirty residential buildings.

Specialists completed the repair overnight on 20 January, finishing two hours ahead of the original plan. Heat supply to consumers was fully restored.

«Emergency services welded unreliable seams in the main»s heat chambers. The work was completed at 1:10 a.m. on 20 January. Heating is being supplied to consumers in full,« the press service of »Teploset« (the heating network company) reported. Managing companies received notifications about the need to connect their systems.

The company noted that the repair was specifically scheduled for a period when warmer weather had set in outdoors.
