On the morning of February 3, some residents of the Nevsky District in St. Petersburg were left without heating. Specialists from «Teploset St. Petersburg» completed repairs on the pipeline, and now management companies need to connect the buildings.
A resident of building 70 on Oktyabrskaya Embankment reported that the radiators began cooling down as early as February 2. It was expected that heat would return by nightfall, but the next morning, apartments were still cold. She said:
Without heating, we with small children have literally been surviving for almost a day, warming ourselves with gas and heaters. Our house is located along the Neva, and it«s always cold and windy here, but now it»s simply impossible. Yesterday, in addition to the heating being cut off at 8:30 p.m., the power went out, and we froze for two hours without heaters.
On social media, it is also noted that heating problems affected Narodnaya Street. In total, 68 residential buildings were in the outage zone.
Repair work began at noon on February 2 on the supply pipeline of the «Oktyabrskaya» distribution network, which was laid in 1992. Hot water supply was not interrupted during this time.
At 100 Oktyabrskaya Embankment, a new 12.5-meter section was inserted into the 400 mm diameter pipeline. The work was completed a little after 9 a.m. on February 3. The company explained that the initial scope of work had to be increased due to the need for cable trenching and passing a fixed support. After the repair was completed, housing organizations received a notification to check the heating systems in the buildings.
