Heat engineers announce repair deadline for Sever-2 main

In Kurgan, energy workers plan to finish repair of the Sever-2 heating main by evening, by 10 p.m. After that, system filling will begin. This was reported to 45.RU correspondent by Evgeny Filimonov, director of SP Teplovye Seti (Heat Networks).

«On Monday, February 2, we discovered another defect here, on a section of the heating main on Raboche-Krestyanskaya Street. We monitored this rupture and carried out constant pumping. We scheduled measures to eliminate it for Wednesday because that day had the most favorable weather conditions. Today, we completely pumped out the coolant from the channel overnight. At 8:45 a.m., we shut down the heating main and began draining and dismantling. Installation work is now underway. In total, we plan to replace a 12-meter section of pipeline with a diameter of 1000 mm (i.e., one meter),» explained Evgeny Filimonov.

He noted that the leak on the Sever-2 heating main occurred due to the dilapidation of the networks. Last summer, after hydraulic tests, crews eliminated more than a dozen defects there.

Evgeny Filimonov commented on the drop in temperatures in apartments in the central part of the city.

«To provide heat to residents of the central part of the city, we have fully transferred the heat load to the «Yug» heating main. It must be understood here that the «Yug» main without the Sever-2 main cannot fully bear the entire load, so some houses will have reduced parameters, but most houses will have heat,» said the director of SP Teplovye Seti.

He added that last year they performed a major overhaul of a section of the Sever-2 main on Pravdy Street. But the main has a long length from Thermal Power Plant No. 1 to Mashinostroiteley Prospekt.

The section of the heating main on Raboche-Krestyanskaya Street has been included in the priority list for major repairs. When funding is allocated, it will be completely overhauled.
