Over the past weekend, a powerful storm hit the Trans-Urals region. Residents of several districts are sharing footage of the aftermath in the «Za kurganami» group on the VKontakte social network.

Residents received an SMS alert from the Russian Emergency Ministry about approaching severe weather.

The elements hit the village of Krivskoye in the Dalmatovsky district the hardest. Hail killed a chicken at one resident«s home.

Large hail literally mowed down residents« gardens. Zucchini, carrots, beets, and radishes were completely destroyed. Locals complain that even greenhouses did not protect against the ice blows — cabbage is battered, and tomato bushes are broken. Piles of hail still lie in yards, not melting despite above-zero temperatures.

In the village of Zyuzino in the Belozersky district, gusts knocked down fences, and residents of the Zverinogolovsky district reported squally winds with hail.

Today, July 21, rescuers are forecasting bad weather. The region is expecting heavy rain, thunderstorms, and large hail. The situation will be complicated by squally winds, with gusts during thunderstorms potentially reaching hurricane-force levels — up to 25 meters per second (about 56 mph). SMS alerts from the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry (RSChS) calling for caution were sent to residents« phones.
