«Good Heart» to Aid Children with Cancer, Disabilities
The traditional city campaign «Good Heart» is held monthly with the participation of various charitable organizations and a popular restaurant chain. To participate, one must order a special promotional dish at the partner restaurant. Proceeds from its sale go to charitable foundations that handle treatment, rehabilitation, and social programs.
In February, all funds raised will be transferred to the St. Petersburg charitable public organization «Umka». The funding will support young patients in oncology departments, families with disabled children, and residents of correctional children«s homes.
Umka has been helping these categories of children since 2003. Its work is built on several main areas.
The key program is providing children with disabilities, including cancer patients, with necessary medicines. Umka also provides humanitarian aid, supplying personal hygiene products and medical nutrition.
On an ongoing basis, volunteers hold parties and educational master classes in hospitals, correctional schools, and children«s homes, and also organize events at St. Petersburg cultural institutions.
Details about the charity campaign can be found on Umka«s official page on social media.
