Frozen water pipe unrepaired after 5 days without water in Chita
The water pipe froze on January 16, leaving residents without water.
Residents of the house at 45 Titovskaya Street in Chita, left without water on January 16 due to a frozen water pipe, still have not had it restored, a local resident told a Chita.Ru correspondent on January 21.
The problem became known on January 19, when local residents reported it. According to the city hall press service, the report about the frozen pipe was received on January 16.
«At 45 Titovskaya, people have been without water for 5 days now. Regarding the repair work, nothing is being done. They came once, hung around for about three hours and left, that»s it,« — the source said.
The city hall responded that during all these days, specialists from «Vodokanal-Chita» have been working on the external utility lines, not the in-house plumbing, to solve the problem.
The company«s press service reported that, in fact, the utility lines where the freezing occurred are ownerless, but at the request of the city administration, »Vodokanal« specialists are carrying out repairs there.
