Former Don Traffic Police Chief Appointed in Krasnodar After Pleading

Oleg Bogun, the former head of the Don traffic police, has been appointed as the acting deputy police chief and head of the Road Safety State Inspection Directorate for the Krasnodar region«s Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD). This was announced on the official website of the region»s traffic police.

The department clarified that the former head of the Don traffic police was appointed to the position of deputy police chief effective January 20, 2026.
The information was also confirmed by a 161.RU source in the security forces, adding that Bogun had long wanted to transfer there following his former boss Oleg Agarkov. The decision regarding Krasnodar Krai was made immediately after the appointment of Oleg Agarkov as head of the Russian MVD directorate for Kuban. However, Bogun«s transfer was delayed for several months.

Oleg Bogun was born in Krasnodar Krai and has served in the traffic police since 1994. Before his appointment to Rostov Oblast, Oleg Bogun held the position of head of the traffic police department for the Russian MVD in Krasnodar from July 2011, and prior to that, he headed the traffic police department of the Leningradsky District of Krasnodar Krai for five years. He has been working in the traffic inspection bodies since 1994.
On January 20, 161.RU reported that Oleg Bogun had left his post in the Don traffic police. At that time, an editorial source said that Oleg Bogun would head the traffic police administration of Krasnodar Krai. In August 2025, 161.RU sources reported that police colonel Oleg Bogun decided to leave his post following his former boss Oleg Agarkov.
