Five-Story Icicle in Nizhny Novgorod Scares Residents for Years

A true king-sized icicle has been found on one of the apartment buildings in Nizhny Novgorod. As local resident Svetlana told a NN.RU photojournalist, the ice buildup problem hasn«t been solved for years.

The giant icicle is located on house No. 9 on Meditsinskaya Street. It is so huge that it stretches almost across all five floors of the building and blocks the windows and balconies.

According to the local resident, they have complained about the problem as a whole building for years, but so far no one has managed to solve it.

‘This icicle is already many years old. As long as we«ve lived here, it has been even worse. How many times we»ve complained — they come, take photos, and leave. They give us this answer: it«s impossible to knock down because the nearest balconies are private property, and no one can touch them,’ shares Svetlana.

NN.RU will send a request to the State Housing Inspection of the region asking them to comment on the annual appearance of the king-sized icicle in its place, and to explain why this dangerous ice giant cannot be destroyed.
