Fireworks in St. Petersburg to Mark Leningrad Blockade Liberation

Fireworks will thunder over the Neva River on the evening of January 27 to mark the 82nd anniversary of Leningrad's liberation from the Nazi siege. The display begins at 21:00 from the Big Beach of the Peter and Paul Fortress.

The fireworks display dedicated to the 82nd anniversary of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the Nazi blockade will take place on January 27 at 21:00. The event will be held at the Big Beach of the Peter and Paul Fortress.

According to the Leningrad Military District, crews from the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy will fire 30 artillery volleys from 85-mm D-44 guns. The artillery salutes will be accompanied by more than 1,000 fireworks launched from pyrotechnic installations.

Over 200 servicemen will be involved in organizing the event. Twelve artillery guns and twelve pyrotechnic launchers will be used.
