Expensive lesson: Kurgan resident pays 130,000 for smartphone dummy

In Kurgan, a woman ordered an expensive phone on a marketplace but received only a dummy, reports the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kurgan Region.
The 31-year-old city resident bought a new mobile phone on the marketplace for 130,000 rubles (about $1,300 at current rates). She paid for the purchase in full immediately. A courier delivered the product to her, but she did not unpack it in his presence. Later, when she decided to see what her new phone looked like, it turned out that the box contained a dummy.
The woman contacted the police. An inspection is now underway, and the circumstances of the incident are being established. Police remind that expensive purchases on marketplaces should be checked and paid for upon receipt of the goods.
