In Novosibirsk, a state of heightened readiness is being considered due to the threat of a building collapse in the Voyenny Gorodok (Military Town) neighborhood. The structure is located between buildings at 5/1 Vasily Staroshchuk Street and 1 Garanina Street in the Oktyabrsky District. A draft resolution has been published on the city administration«s website.

The document states that temporary warning road signs, speed limits, and hazard warning signs are to be installed near the building. A barrier is also planned between the building and the road to prevent unauthorized access to the structure.

Additionally, local residents must be informed about the heightened readiness regime. The Emergency Situations Department, together with the city administration«s offices, will inspect the building to assess its technical condition.

According to the draft resolution, the Federal State Autonomous Institution «Administration for Industrial and Special Projects» (FGAU «UISP») of the Russian Ministry of Defence is to be tasked with installing fences and mesh to restrict access to potentially dangerous areas, ensuring the building«s preservation, and conducting a technical inspection by 1 May 2026.

For now, the city administration has only published a draft resolution, which may be subject to changes. NGS has sent inquiries to the Russian Ministry of Defence and the city administration«s press center.

According to the Unified State Register of Real Estate (EGRN) website, this is the same building where temporary traffic restrictions were imposed due to a roof collapse threat. Traffic was later reopened after the collapse threat was not confirmed.
