At the Lazurnye Nebesa residential complex on Albert Kamaleev Avenue in Kazan, which was damaged by a drone attack back in December 2024, restoration work has begun. Construction equipment and specialists were spotted on the morning of 21 July, reports a 116.RU correspondent.

Footage shows that some windows are covered with dark film, and a construction crane has been erected along the building.

The facade on the damaged side of the building will be completely replaced. As previously reported, the work will be completed by the end of summer and will cost nearly half a billion rubles (about $5.3 million at current rates).

Such a long gap between the incident and the start of repairs is due to its technical complexity. As earlier explained by the city administration, it is impossible to replace only the damaged part of the facade. It must be completely renewed, and in the case of the elite residential complex, the facades are the exterior walls of the residential apartments.

Recall that Lazurnye Nebesa was damaged by a drone strike on 21 December 2024. That day, Kazan was attacked by 8 drones. Six of the drones were headed toward residential buildings. In addition to the elite high-rise, drones struck a house on Klara Tsetkin Street in the Kirovsky District and the Manhattan residential complex in the Privolzhsky District. UMVD (the regional Interior Ministry department) officers prevented another strike by shooting down a drone in the area of Krasnaya Pozitsiya Street.
