Drivee Summarizes New Year Holiday Taxi Usage in Volgograd

The Russian taxi-ordering service Drivee analyzed user activity during the winter holidays (from December 31 to January 12). The analytics revealed a shift in the transportation habits of Volgograd residents during the break, from ringing in the New Year mid-ride to record-breaking mileage on festive days.

For some users, the celebration literally began on the road. According to data from Drivee, in Volgograd, five passengers rang in 2026 in a taxi car, with that exact number of trips occurring during the peak interval of New Year«s night from 23:50 on December 31 to 00:15 on January 1. Across the country, this figure reached 240 users.

Overall, during the holiday weekend (from December 31 to January 12), Drivee users in the city collectively covered over 920,000 kilometers. The highest number of orders was on January 1. On this day, the main flow of trips was recorded, with some users returning home after celebrations, while others, conversely, set off to congratulate friends and relatives.

On average in the city, one trip during this period took 11 minutes. The record was a journey spanning 45 kilometers, which lasted almost an hour.

Service analysts note that trip scenarios during the holidays traditionally shifted from business to entertainment. Thus, the top popular destinations included shopping and entertainment centers, as well as the railway station — many used the long weekend for tourist trips.
