Drivee analyzes New Year holiday taxi activity in Novosibirsk

The Russian taxi booking service Drivee analyzed user activity during the winter holidays (from December 31 to January 12). The analytics revealed changes in the transport habits of Novosibirsk residents during the holidays, from celebrating the New Year while on the move to record mileage on festive days.

For some users, the celebration literally began on the road. According to data from Drivee, in Novosibirsk, six passengers welcomed 2026 inside a taxi, with that many rides occurring during the peak interval of New Year«s Eve from 11:50 PM on December 31 to 00:15 AM on January 1. Nationwide, this figure reached 240 users.

Overall, during the holiday weekend (from December 31 to January 12), Drivee users in the city covered a total of over a million kilometers. The highest number of orders was on January 1. That day saw the main flow of trips, with some users returning home after celebrations, while others, on the contrary, set out to congratulate friends and relatives.

On average, one trip in the city during this period took 15 minutes. The record was a trip spanning 36 kilometers, which lasted just over an hour.

Service analysts note that trip scenarios during the holidays traditionally shifted from business to leisure. Thus, the top popular destinations included shopping and entertainment centers, as well as the airport and railway station — many used the long weekend for tourist trips.
