Samara has already started preparing for the farewell to Maslenitsa, a Slavic folk holiday. The main festivities will take place on February 22 at Kuibyshev Square. But for that, the New Year«s decorations need to be removed first.

«This coming weekend, the square will begin dismantling the New Year«s town — the central Christmas tree complex with media garlands, »winter forest,« and art objects», the Samara mayor»s office reported on Friday, January 30.

Kuibyshev Square was decorated for the New Year traditionally at the end of December. A 63.RU photographer was among the first to appreciate the fully ready festive decoration in this popular walking location.

And on January 13, Samara residents were upset that the New Year«s decorations were being dismantled early from the square. However, this was not entirely the case. The mayor»s office explained the situation: only video screens were removed from the square at that time.

And very soon in the regional center, they will begin dismantling New Year«s decorations on two major highways — on Novo-Sadovaya (on the section from Polevaya to Kirov Avenue) and on Krasnoglinskoe Highway (from the bridge over the Sok River to Volzhskoe Highway).
