Developer buys two historic houses in central Nizhny

Two historic buildings in central Nizhny Novgorod were sold at auction. Construction company Stroy-Realty i K bought houses No. 17 and 19/29 on Nizhegorodskaya Street for 29 million rubles ($290,000 at current rates), reported Deputy Governor Yegor Polyakov.
House No. 17 is a residential outbuilding of merchant Asson Nemchinov with an area of 151 square meters, built in the mid-19th century. House No. 19/29 with an area of almost 850 square meters was erected at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
The starting price of the buildings at auction was 1.64 million rubles ($16,400 at current rates) and 7.3 million rubles ($73,000 at current rates). The buyer increased it several times — to 12 million rubles ($120,000) and 17 million rubles ($170,000) respectively.
The company intends to restore the houses by 2030. After that, the developer will use the buildings at its discretion. Proceeds from the sold properties will go to the regional budget.
Stroy-Realty i K has built the residential complexes «Malenkaya Strana» (Little Country), Green House, and «Dominant» in the Prioksky District.
Earlier we reported that a building at 44 Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street, which has been hidden behind a false facade for several years in the very center of Nizhny, will be put up for auction due to its emergency condition. All owners agreed to the voluntary transfer of property for the sale of the house.
