Demolition begins on long-unfinished high-rise near TSUM in Tyumen
In Tyumen, near TSUM, the dismantling of a long-unfinished high-rise has begun. Recall that the building was under construction since 2018; in the summer of 2020, an annex to TSUM was partially dismantled. A year later, construction resumed, and it was planned that within three years the high-rise with panoramic glazing would be ready. But in 2024, construction work ceased entirely.

Plans for what will be near TSUM were shared by the company «Sibintel».
«Vladimir Shevchik, as the head of Domin-T LLC, as stated in the founding documents, took over the project, purchased this building, and has now decided to approach the object, which has been standing for several years, in a new way. It did not meet the modern requirements that our investors, partners from hotel chains, demand,» 72.RU was told by the company, which is the current owner of the building.
The cost of implementing the project has not been disclosed yet. It is planned that the new hotel will open its doors in 2028.
The idea for building the structure appeared back in 2006. A project was developed at that time, but it did not go further. The idea was revisited years later: in January 2018, public hearings were held where changes to the project for an annex to the TSUM building were discussed: instead of the approved three floors, the department store management asked to be allowed to build all 25.
In 2024, the unfinished building changed owners. Later it became known: the long-unfinished construction will be demolished, and a modern multifunctional complex will be built in its place.
