Demolition approved for Yekaterinburg building with legendary art

The demolition of four buildings of the former Ural Instrument-Making Plant at Gorkogo Street, 17, has been deemed safe for architectural monuments located nearby, as well as for the cultural layer discovered earlier. This is stated in the materials of the historical and cultural expertise.

A safety assessment has cleared the way for demolishing the former industrial structures.

«The expertise concludes that it is possible to ensure the preservation of cultural heritage objects during demolition and related work,» the document states.

According to the materials, the building will be dismantled starting from the end, following a «top-down» scheme. A crawler excavator is planned to be used in the process. Currently, the expert conclusion is open for discussion.

Recall that the building has changed owners several times. The Unified State Register of Real Estate has no data on the current owner.
