Defense Ministry Reports One Drone Downed Over Volgograd

The Russian Defense Ministry said one Ukrainian drone was shot down overnight over Volgograd Oblast, according to a statement on its official MAX messenger channel.

Russia's Defense Ministry reported one drone shot down overnight over Volgograd Oblast. The announcement appeared on the ministry's official messenger accounts.

«During the past night, air defense systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 95 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type: 36 over Krasnodar Krai, 27 over Rostov Oblast, 21 over the Sea of Azov, 8 over Belgorod Oblast, 2 over the Republic of Crimea, and 1 over Volgograd Oblast,» the ministry said in a statement.

Last night, RSChS (the Unified State System for Prevention and Response to Emergencies) sent a drone warning to mobile phone subscribers in the region, while Rosaviatsiya (the Federal Air Transport Agency) closed Volgograd's international airport. According to the online board at Gumrak Airport, as of 08:05 on February 5, two flights were delayed: SU1758/1759 from Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport and back to the capital, as well as Rossiya Airlines flight FV6217/6218. The delay is about two hours.
