Dangerous Gas Homes Discovered in Krasnoyarsk
In Krasnoyarsk, dangerous gas-equipped houses were found on three streets: Bykovsky, Aerovokzalnaya, and Malinovsky. Their managing companies poorly maintained common building gas equipment.
«Ventilation was not functioning, scheduled inspections and cleanings were not conducted, and in a number of apartments, access to ventilation shafts was completely blocked by owners. This situation created a direct threat to the life and health of residents,» the regional prosecutor«s office said.
As reported by NGS24.RU from the regional prosecutor«s office, a total of 22 houses in 8 managing companies were inspected, and 8 submissions were made.
The most significant violations were found in LLC Managing Company «Vernoe Reshenie» (Faithful Solution) and LLC Managing Company «Krasnoyarskaya». Their managers were fined for violating license requirements in managing multi-apartment buildings (part 3 of article 14.1.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) to 50,000 rubles (approximately $556 at current rates) and 150,000 rubles (approximately $1,700 at current rates) respectively.
Only after this did the managing companies begin to eliminate the violations.
In August 2023, in a multi-apartment building in Kansk, gas exploded. According to the prosecutor«s office, there the contractor did not ensure the tightness of the pipeline during major repairs. Residents received injuries of varying severity, and their property burned. The authorities of Kansk then counted 22 victims, those who applied for targeted assistance.
