Crowd of street cleaners spotted in Voronezh center after snow
The workers clearing snow do not resemble typical city maintenance staff.
Residents noticed about two dozen street cleaners in the center of Voronezh on the morning of January 30. A video of the strange gathering of people with shovels in one spot was published by the outlet «TV Guberniya».
Incredibly active cleanup is underway on Revolution Avenue, near the A. Koltsov Drama Theater and the regional branch of the Central Bank of Russia. According to the video, the sidewalk there is now in perfect condition.
However, the sidewalk cleaners are not wearing the special uniforms typically worn by municipal street cleaners and utility workers. So it is possible that order in the center of Voronezh is being restored by students or employees of nearby shops.
Voronezh residents who live outside the city center were not so lucky with snow and ice removal. After the nighttime snowfall, it is difficult to get around not only for pedestrians but also for drivers. City residents reported to the Voronezh1.ru editorial office that on the morning of January 30, it was hard to drive even on Moscow Avenue — cars were skidding due to the snow.
Update. The administration of the Central District reported that the cleanup on the avenue was carried out by «additional forces» attracted to clean the city. More than 140 people were clearing snow on Revolution Avenue, Plekhanovskaya, Teatralnaya, Ordzhonikidze, Koltsevaya streets, and others.
