When asked whether one can separate the art from the artist, Crockett replied that some people are able to, but she is not, because she does not want to put money in Nicki Minaj«s pocket.
According to Crockett, finances gave Minaj a platform, and she does not wish to support that platform, which Minaj uses to promote political views that are unacceptable to the congresswoman.
According to media reports, in recent months Nicki Minaj has actively supported the Trump administration, endorsed controversial moves such as the recent arrest of Don Lemon, and appeared at Turning Point USA events alongside Erika Kirk.
