Crockett Says Minaj Sold Out to Trump Administration

Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett of Texas said she cannot separate the art from the artist and therefore no longer listens to Nicki Minaj«s songs. According to her, she has always been more of a Cardi B fan, but the rapper»s shift to right-wing politics only deepened her dislike.

Crockett claims she cannot tolerate «sellout» people, especially in the current tense political climate. She believes that Nicki Minaj, as an immigrant, is actively aligning with an administration known for its tough stance on illegal immigration.

The congresswoman does not know the exact reason Minaj has moved to the right, but speculates it may be related to obtaining documents for a relative or a presidential pardon in the future — both the rapper«s husband and brother have had legal troubles.

When asked whether one can separate the art from the artist, Crockett replied that some people are able to, but she is not, because she does not want to put money in Nicki Minaj«s pocket.

According to Crockett, finances gave Minaj a platform, and she does not wish to support that platform, which Minaj uses to promote political views that are unacceptable to the congresswoman.

According to media reports, in recent months Nicki Minaj has actively supported the Trump administration, endorsed controversial moves such as the recent arrest of Don Lemon, and appeared at Turning Point USA events alongside Erika Kirk.

In an interview with Katie Miller, the wife of Trump adviser Stephen Miller, airing today, Minaj said she supports transgender adults but opposes sex reassignment surgeries for children.

Despite all her support, Minaj will not take part in the alternative Turning Point USA show during the Super Bowl halftime. As Crockett notes, there may be a reason for that that makes one think.
