Criminal Negligence Case Opened in Yanino After School Bullying

A criminal case has been opened in the Vsevolozhsky District of Leningrad Oblast after cruel bullying of a teenage girl by her peers. This was reported on January 30 by the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee.
The incident was prompted by a video that appeared on social media the day before. In the recording, made at a school in the village of Yanino, several girls are seen whipping another teenager with wet rags, pinning her against a wall.
Additionally, the aggressors waved scissors in the victim«s face and poured water on her from bottles. The footage shows that the victimized girl almost did not attempt to resist.
«On the instruction of the leadership of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Leningrad Oblast, a criminal case has been initiated based on signs of a crime under Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (negligence),» the official statement said.
There is no information on detentions yet. However, the article under which the case was opened indicates that school staff may have come under the scrutiny of law enforcement.
