In a Los Angeles court this week, a hearing was held for the former couple—boxer Devin Haney and Lina Sayed. According to media reports, the judge dismissed Sayed«s petition, which sought permission to publish photos of their one-year-old child on social media without the father»s consent.

Judge Hank Goldberg sided with Haney, deciding to uphold the existing child custody agreement. The ruling stated that there are no arguments in favor of the one-year-old child benefiting from public attention and social media activity.
«It is entirely understandable that celebrity parents may wish to shield their children from publicity. Popular culture is full of stories of how children of famous parents have suffered from public attention,» the judge noted.
The order also clarified that the condition does not prohibit publishing any photos at all. For example, a parent can post a picture from the child«s birthday and describe the event without showing the child in the frame.
The judge noted that both parties were represented by highly qualified attorneys when the agreement was made and that there are no claims that the agreement was signed under duress.
Ultimately, the court ruled that the contested part of the agreement serves the child«s best interests and dismissed Sayed»s petition to amend it.
Court documents note the sharp controversy between the parties. Haney«s lawyers argued that Sayed»s career on an adult content platform is sufficient reason to prohibit her from posting photos of their son Chrome without the father«s permission.
The documents present an argument: «Lina»s self-objectification and encouragement of sexual fantasies through her publications mean that some of her online «followers» follow her not because of her motherhood.«
Representatives for both sides have not yet commented on the situation for the press.
