The meteorological center «FOBOS» reports that on Friday, January 23, the synoptic situation in St. Petersburg will develop under the influence of the western edge of an anticyclone.
Cloudy weather with unstable clearings is expected, with occasional light snow.
The temperature range in the city will be -8 to -10 degrees Celsius (18 to 14°F), and in Leningrad Region from -8 to -13 degrees Celsius (18 to 9°F).
The wind will be easterly with a speed of 1–6 meters per second. Atmospheric pressure will not change significantly and will remain high — about 770 millimeters of mercury, which is above the climatic norm.
Moscow will also remain on the periphery of the baric maximum. Here, despite high pressure indicators, significant cloudiness will persist, and in some areas, weak snow is possible.
No significant temperature rise during the day is forecast: in the capital, thermometers will show -9 to -11 degrees Celsius (16 to 12°F).
