City hall announces snow cleanup plan for Yaroslavl

The city hall meeting detailed the plan for snow removal across Yaroslavl after recent heavy falls.
At a city-wide meeting in the Yaroslavl city hall on the morning of January 27, the city cleanup was discussed. A heavy snowfall had occurred the night before.
«We are working in enhanced mode. A large amount of precipitation has fallen. Currently, about 160 units of equipment are operating. First and foremost, we are clearing and treating roads. When the deicing agent takes effect, we plow and treat again. We focus on main thoroughfares, then roads of the second and third categories. Snow removal is planned overnight. We will clear bus stop bays. About 160 manual workers are operating,» reported Andrei Stepanov, head of Gorzelenkhozstroy.
Simultaneously, the clearing of city parks, courtyards, and driveways is underway. Management companies and district administrations are responsible for the latter.
The mayor instructed to organize the work so that the task of clearing the city is solved within a week.
«Snowfalls are still to come. We have snowfall promised for today, tomorrow, and the day after,» noted the city head.
Recall that after the snowfall, some major avenues and highways in Yaroslavl got stuck in traffic jams.
