The results of the competition to create the City Day logo for 2026 have been announced in Chita — the winning entry is by Irina Vlasova. This was reported on January 28 in the mayor«s Telegram channel, citing the city»s culture committee.

«Based on the selection of all submitted works, the most stylish option was chosen, which reflects the theme of the 175th anniversary of Chita being granted city status. The development of the logo is based on the connection between the heroic past of the Transbaikal Cossacks and the modern development of the city,» the message states.

It is noted that the approved logo will be used in all information spaces of the regional center related to the celebration of City Day in Chita in 2026.

In 2025, the author of the winning City Day logo in that competition was Marina Antsiferova. It reflected the themes of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland, and the Year of Cultural Heritage Sites in Transbaikalia. The design was based on the carved window frame of Vasily Konovalov«s estate, as well as traditional ornaments.

In 2024, the jury chose a logo with a soldier holding a child in his arms against the backdrop of the Transbaikal region.

In 2023, the winning logo was designed by a 4th-grade student of the Central Children«s Art School. It reflected the theme of the 370th anniversary of Transbaikalia joining the Russian state and support for the special military operation.
In 2022, the selected work was by Marina Kuzmina (Baksheeva), who teaches at the Central Children«s Art School. That year was the Year of Cultural Heritage of the Peoples of Russia and the year Chita was awarded the title »City of Labor Valor.«
