Chita city hall launches search for summer flower planting contractor

The contractor is set to plant nearly 139,000 flowers in Chita.
The Urban Economy Committee of the Chita administration has announced a tender to find a contractor who will plant 138.4 thousand flowers in Chita by June 15, 2026. This is reported on the government procurement website.
The flowers to be planted include species such as violas, marigolds, petunias, mini-petunias, verbenas, carnations, geraniums, ageratum, salvias, phlox, cineraria, coleus, and gaillardia.
The greening will cover squares such as Lenin Square, Truda Square, Decembrists Square, Teatralnaya Square, Revolution Square, MZhK Park, the Tselinnik, Gagarin, and Solnechny squares, the railway station square, and streets including Chaikovsky, Butina, Chkalov, Nedorezov, and others.
The flowers will be planted in metal structures, planters, pots, flowerbeds, and flower gardens. They will then be watered twice a day: from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00.
The initial purchase price is 22.3 million rubles (approximately $223,000 at current rates). Applications are accepted until February 4.
In 2024, the city planted over 146,000 flowers. The planting and maintenance cost 13 million rubles (approximately $130,000 at current rates). At that time, the contract was awarded to a local entrepreneur.
In 2025, the city planned to plant about 150,000 flowering plants, which included flowers and shrubs.
