Children Love It: Muscovites Name Best City Ice Slide

If there is anything in winter that makes not only children«s but also adults» eyes light up, it«s ice slides. Remember that feeling: snow crunching underfoot, and somewhere ahead, laughter and squeals of delight can already be heard?
We asked city residents where the best place to slide down a hill is this season.
In the survey, 313 capital residents participated.
The most popular option was the slide at the Rostochnsky Aqueduct. This option received 68 votes — that«s first place. The slide here is about 150 meters long, with a good and long run-up. You can slide even after dark, and you can rent a tube right on the spot. However, as one reader noted, locals knew this slope many years ago when it was almost secret, and now people come here from all districts.
Second place went to the slide in Kolomenskoye Park. 52 Muscovites voted for it. Here, the slides are not as high, but they are lengthy — the descent can reach 160 meters. It«s especially beautiful in the evening when everything is decorated with garlands and glowing. The ambiance of the royal estate and the wide, gentle slope create ideal conditions for family recreation.
The honorable third place was taken by the slide in Sokolniki with 22 votes. It is rightly considered one of the longest in the city — the length of the descent there is a full 200 meters. The slide called «The Hill» on Pesoshnaya Alley is equipped with safe chutes and attracts both those who enjoy calm sliding and those seeking real extreme sensations.
Of course, the comments mentioned not only the leaders. Someone spoke with indignation about Tsaritsyno, where you could previously slide for free.
«We»ve come to this! Ice slides are now paid!« exclaimed a reader of MSK1.RU.
Fortunately, there are still places untouched by capitalism.
«Borisov Ponds — for free! About one and a half times higher than in Rostokino, and fewer people too,» shared a Muscovite woman.
So if you suddenly want to remember childhood or give it to your children, now you know where to go.
