Chibis reveals plans for modern art development in region

On 22 January, a press conference was held in Murmansk with journalists and Governor Andrey Chibis.
During the meeting, new opportunities for artists and representatives of the creative industries in the region were discussed. Bloggers from the Polar region asked whether exhibition-fairs like «Invented in the Arctic» would be repeated and what support measures for creative industries were planned.
«I haven»t told anyone yet, but I«ll say now,» the governor replied.
According to him, plans are underway to create an art residence based at the «Rusalochka» facility. It will be renovated and become a workplace for artists and creative entrepreneurs. The idea is for the residence to become a hub for creative people of all ages and an important cultural venue for the region.
Furthermore, support for creative industries will be developed through the new Ministry of Tourism and Entrepreneurship, which will work on developing additional measures to foster creativity and creative business, so that creative people remain in the North and can realize their projects.
