Reckless speedboat enthusiasts will receive fines from cameras, said Yevgeny Lyulin, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Nizhny Novgorod Region. The regional parliament will consider bills providing for this next week.

The committee on transport and road infrastructure of the Legislative Assembly approved the draft federal laws. According to Lyulin, they are intended to bring order to waterways following the example of land-based ones:

  • the first bill amends the Inland Water Transport Code, allowing regions to install cameras along riverbanks. Information about their location will be publicly available;

  • the second bill will affect the Russian Code of Administrative Offenses.

“If you violate, you get a fine, which will be issued based on data from automatic cameras. The offender will receive information about the fine as promptly as traffic rule violators do and bear the same responsibility for non-payment,” explained Yevgeny Lyulin.

Recall that by the beginning of February in Nizhny Novgorod, they plan to install new cameras on Bolshaya Pokrovskaya Street. They will catch violating motorists.

In January, video surveillance systems appeared at a dangerous railway crossing near Balakhna, where several accidents with commuter trains have occurred in recent years.
