Building materials in 2025 have increased in price by an average of two times compared to 2020. The biggest price jump was in 2022, when most repair goods rose in price by 1.2–1.5 times. For example, according to federal statistics, the average price for 50 kg of cement increased from 390 rubles (approximately $4 at current rates) to 719 rubles (approximately $7), and ceramic tile — from 700 rubles (approximately $7) to 1100 rubles (approximately $11).

Laminate and linoleum increased in price by approximately 68% and 54% respectively. The largest increase occurred in 2022 — the price jumped by 200 rubles (approximately $2). Current statistics show that the cost per square meter of laminate is 1313 rubles (approximately $13), and linoleum — 905 rubles (approximately $9). Wall paint for interior work increased on average by 205 rubles (approximately $2), with the price rising steadily over all 5 years, presumably due to the sufficient number of domestic producers, unlike floor coverings.

The largest increase was shown by wall construction materials, particularly red brick. In 2020, its average cost was recorded at 19.5 thousand rubles (approximately $195) per 1000 pieces, and in 2025, this figure is two times higher — 41.3 thousand rubles (approximately $413). Each year, it became more expensive by almost 8 thousand rubles (approximately $80).

Vinyl wallpaper doubled in price — from 480 rubles (approximately $5) to 1300 rubles (approximately $13) per 10 meters, as did ceramic tile — from 700 rubles (approximately $7) to 1100 rubles (approximately $11) per square meter. Wallpaper adhesive increased in price by 43%, and tile laying adhesive — by 32% — to 420 rubles (approximately $4) per 10 liters and 1200 rubles (approximately $12) per 100 kilograms respectively.

According to the TenderPro portal in January 2025, costs increased by 29% compared to 2024, with reasons being rising prices for raw materials, logistics, currency fluctuations, and in 2026, further growth in finishing materials by 12–18% is expected due to a shortage of personnel. The following are forecasted to rise:

  • electronic equipment;

  • ceramic tile;

  • PVC windows;

  • interior doors.
