Boiling Water from Burst Pipes Floods Homes in Volgograd

In Volgograd, bursts of hot water pipes have occurred in several apartment buildings, resulting in premises being flooded with boiling water. Residents fear that the water may reach electrical panels, leading to the shutdown of not only heating but also electricity.

In a three-story building at Kachintsev Street, 88B in the Dzerzhinsky district, boiling water has been flowing since yesterday. Published video recordings show water accumulating in the entranceway near the door.

«The pipe burst, boiling water has been pouring since evening,» residents say. «The management company is not responding and has stopped answering calls. Calls to 112 also yield no results...»

In the building at Stoletova Street, 2 in the Krasnoarmeysky district, boiling water has been pouring since midnight. Residents are worried that the water will damage electrical panel equipment, leaving the house without heating and electricity. The video shows people trying to cope with the flood by placing basins and buckets, but the floors are already covered with water.

«Tonight, a heating pipe burst in a room on the 9th floor. No one lives there, the room was sold, and the owner left no contact information,» explains one of the residents. «It has already flooded rooms down to the first floor. All residents are calling the management company, but so far no one has come...»

Another incident occurred in the building at Saushinskaya Street, 12 in the Krasnoarmeysky district. There, boiling water has been flooding premises since evening, and residents, faced with the inaction of the management company, recorded a video appeal to Governor Andrey Bocharov and the General Prosecutor«s Office.

«Our house has been slated for resettlement since 2017,» residents complain. «Two weeks ago, our heating radiators started bursting, and yesterday in one of the apartments, a riser pipe ruptured. Boiling water is pouring onto the floor. The emergency service arrived and said they could do nothing. The plumbers came and left. In the apartment where the riser burst, there is a woman who is visually impaired. Officials said they are aware of the problem, but nothing has progressed. On the first floors, things are already very bad, boiling water is pouring everywhere. All this is pouring on people»s heads, all walls are wet, the second floors are suffocating, like in a bathhouse. And on the first floors, it«s just a swimming pool! Yes, please help us solve this problem, because the administration is inactive, the management company »Zhemchuzhina« is also inactive. The master listened, hung up, and does nothing more.»

In the company «Concession Water Supply», they stated that the pressure in the heating system at the specified addresses complies with standards. «The resource is supplied in accordance with regulatory parameters. For issues with in-house networks, it is necessary to contact the management organization,» they noted.

In the emergency service of UK «Zhemchuzhina», which services the house at Saushinskaya, 12, they were surprised by complaints about the burst and reported that the malfunctions have already been fixed.

In the management company «Volzhsky Krai», responsible for the houses on Kachintsev and Stoletova, telephone calls remained unanswered.

The question of the further fate of the affected houses is currently being clarified in the administration of Volgograd.
