A boar was captured on video in the Nizhne-Svirsky Reserve (in the Leningrad region of Russia), slowly surveying the forest area. The animal, an even-toed ungulate, demonstrated meticulousness as it carefully examined the snow cover for anything edible.

It remains unknown whether the beast managed to find a treat during its walk.
Recently, boars have been frequently appearing near dacha (summer house) settlements of St. Petersburg residents. They approach human dwellings for the same reason—in search of food. For instance, residents of Olgino (near St. Petersburg) are unhappy with such encounters; some even fear going to work or returning home after dark since boars are nocturnal.
