Blue-tailed Monitor Gets a Female Companion at Zoo
A female blue-tailed monitor has arrived from Ufa (Russia) to the Leningrad Zoo and is now settling into her new home.

The new resident has arrived to join the resident male blue-tailed monitor, which already lives at the Leningrad Zoo.
A female blue-tailed monitor has arrived from Ufa, Russia to the Leningrad Zoo to meet a resident male.
The female is six years old. She will be in quarantine for a month, after which the specialists will introduce her to the male.
“It is not easy to see them in the wild due to the secretive lifestyle of the animal in the tropical forests of New Guinea and nearby islands,” the zoo emphasized.
These large lizards are known for their bright blue tail, which makes up most of the total body length of the predators.
