On the evening of January 26, the facade of Yekaterinburg«s city hall was illuminated with blue lighting. This marked the culmination of a celebration for student couple Oleg and Elena Tokarev, who learned the gender of their future child in this way.
A large gender reveal party was organized on an ice rink as part of Russian Student Day festivities. The young family watched the building from right on the ice.
The tradition of publicly announcing a baby«s gender using color symbols is gaining popularity in the region. At the end of last year, a plane flying over the Logonovo airfield (near Yekaterinburg) sprayed pink smoke, informing another couple about the birth of a girl.
Another bright color show in the sky was arranged in the summer for the son of the mysterious Mr. Credo, who poured champagne on himself upon hearing the news of an heir.
Additionally, for Student«s Day, the editorial office held a traditional contest for the title of the most beautiful Tatyana (associated with Tatyana»s Day in Russia). The voting was won by 26-year-old student of Ural State University of Economics (UrSEU) Tanya Boltikova.
