The Pima County Sheriff«s Department stated it is aware of reports of possible ransom notes in the investigation of Nancy Guthrie»s case. The department noted that it takes all incoming information very seriously and passes it to detectives working jointly with the FBI.

According to media reports, a presumed note from the kidnappers demanding a ransom has come to light. It specifies a large sum in Bitcoin, amounting to millions, and an address for transferring the cryptocurrency, which reports say is active.

The note reportedly sets a deadline for payment and contains hints of serious consequences if the demands are not met. It also describes an item of clothing belonging to Nancy Guthrie and claims that another item was damaged in her home near Tucson. Notably, earlier broadcasts stated she was wearing one of the mentioned items, but the note says otherwise.
Nancy Guthrie was reported missing on Sunday, and her disappearance is being investigated as a kidnapping. Detectives who also handle homicide cases are involved in the investigation.
