The auction for the sale of the mansion confiscated from director Timur Bekmambetov will take place in Kazan on March 3. The initial property value is set at over 9.3 million Russian rubles (approximately $93,000 at current rates).

The buyer will be required to carry out extensive work to preserve the cultural heritage site. The estimated cost of necessary restoration measures is 91.7 million rubles (around $917,000 at current rates).

The building is located at 44 Shigabutdin Marjani Street. It is a historical and cultural monument known as the Bagautdinova (Marjani) — Apanayeva House and was built in 1873. The mansion has five rooms with a total area of 204.2 square meters.

As of spring 2025, the property was in a mothballed state, with no repair or restoration work conducted.

The property was seized from Bekmambetov in summer 2025 by decision of the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan. The lawsuit for the seizure of the negligently maintained cultural heritage object was filed by the district prosecutor. The decision was made in absentia, as the director was not present in court.
