It«s no secret that very demanding and discerning people live in Irkutsk. And there»s nothing wrong with that: only by demanding a lot can you motivate everyone involved to work and make the city better. We gathered the freshest reviews from Irkutsk residents and city guests in the 2GIS service and found out what surprises, irritates, and delights people.

The lowest rating belongs to Leninsky District – only 3.7 points out of 5. However, there are very few constructive reviews over the past year; people mostly operate on emotions.

— I live here, it«s beautiful, — wrote DENIS.

Sergey Grenov was maximally critical: “The worst district in the city, no connection, no internet, and nowhere decent to go.”

But Amira Kuzina would surely disagree with this statement:

— We bought an apartment, we like it here, the district has become civilized!

Alexander Tereshchenko left a negative review: “A stinky district due to regular factory discharges of toxic substances into the atmosphere! It makes you want to vomit every time!”

A user with the nickname N D expressed it very briefly and succinctly: “A hole, half-city half-village.”

Pravoberezhny District in Irkutsk is divided into two parts – Kuybyshevsky and Kirovsky districts, which existed separately from each other until 1996. Kirovsky District includes the city center within the streets of Dekabrskikh Sobytiy, Podgornaya, Gagarin Boulevard, and Yunost Island. Kuybyshevsky District is the entire rest of Pravoberezhny District, including the suburbs of Rabocheye and Marata and other outskirts.

The rating for Kuybyshevsky District is slightly higher than for Leninsky – 3.9 points. 2GIS users are extremely skeptical about this area (note that the author of the text does not share their position).

— A terrible place, there are little bags of flour everywhere, I don«t understand why, — wrote user Asan.

— Dear girls, if you see that your boyfriend«s registration is in Kuybyshevsky District, run from this poverty, — noted An An.

According to user “Stepan won«t tell,” Kuybyshevsky District has “a hard village vibe.” Well, user “Anatoly blogger from 2GIS” gave the territory five stars and added: “Kuybyshevsky is my guiding star!”

But Kirovsky District has a worthy rating (4.7 points, no one else has more) and many positive reviews:

— Kirovsky District, the most luxurious in Irkutsk. The lower embankment – pure nostalgia, all my childhood passed near it, — shared a memory by some anonymous user.

— We have a good embankment: you can take a walk and do sports, — wrote Evelina Osipova.

— But it«s better not to go into the toilet on the embankment. Hold it. It»s not even a dump, — continued the previous thought by Vitaly Mashkov.

Kapa Golubeva left a very large review with photos, we publish it in full:

— We walked along Uritskogo Street! The shopping street is preserved with old houses! The beautiful architecture of the buildings attracts and fascinates!

Suddenly we reached an alley – a very strange one – everything is painted with graffiti (I love graffiti when it«s not scribbles and fits into the district»s story), if you can call these drawings that. You walk through it and understand that the houses are more or less well-kept only from the Uritskogo side, and the alley clearly shows that the old times, architecture – are needed by no one. Everything is simply in a deplorable state.

Valentin Strokin summarized: “The district is very cozy, like in a picture.”

We finish our journey on the right bank of Irkutsk by heading to Oktyabrsky District. It was rated 4.2 points. Many commenters call it the best in the city. But there are plenty of problems here too. One of them was told by Anna Khlystova:

— The staircase to descend from Dalnevostochnaya Street to the embankment. A very necessary element in this place. For pedestrians, it directly shortens the path. But after the construction of the “Salut” residential complex began, it became completely impossible to pass in the rain, all autumn we walked through clay. On the road, the pedestrian crossing has worn off, no one paints it, and drivers don«t pay much attention to signs, so you need to cross the road very carefully.

— The best district in Irkutsk. I lived there in a rented apartment from birth until moving, at eight years old I moved with my parents to Berezovy (in Markova) and would like to rent an apartment there again at around 18 (in Oktyabrsky District. – Ed.), I miss this district and the 2010s, Irkutsk is forever in my heart, — wrote Konstantin Veliky.

— Clear, — briefly assessed Andrey Berkut.

Finally, we only have Sverdlovsky District left, which received 4.5 points from discerning 2GIS users. However, constructive comments are not very plentiful here either.

— Beautiful, but not very, — wrote Karina.

— The district is normal, there are shopping centers, shops, places to eat, institutes, schools, as well as other places, — added Vladislav Veyalko.

— Well, objectively, this is the best district. On this bank, — noted user Irkutskost.

— Wonderful here, — summed up Oksana Petrova.

Write in the comments, which district do you live in and do you like it there?
