Bari Manilov Faces Cancer, Cancels Tour

Popular singer Bari Manilov is battling a serious oncological disease, according to media reports. The 82-year-old artist shared the shocking news on social media, announcing the cancellation of his Christmas concerts in the U.S. to remove a dangerous growth on his lung.

The diagnosis was made after a prolonged illness led to additional examinations. «I am preparing for surgery to remove this spot,» Manilov told fans. He apologized for postponing the performances.

The singer explained that he recently suffered a six-week bout of bronchitis with a relapse, and although he had already returned to the stage in Las Vegas, his doctor ordered an MRI for a check-up. The examination revealed a cancerous spot on his left lung that needs to be removed. «It»s pure luck that it was detected so early,« he said.

Friends and fans expressed concern due to Manilov«s long history of smoking. Rumors spread that in 2020 he battled throat cancer, but his representative denied these reports.

«I smoked for 30 years, starting at age nine,» the singer admitted. «Then I quit about 15-20 years ago.» However, he later started smoking again and switched to vaping. Previously, Manilov had overcome bronchial pneumonia, a tumor in his mouth, and heart problems, as well as undergone hip surgery.

Despite the diagnosis, the artist promised to return to the stage in Las Vegas in February. His doctor plans additional tests and does not believe the cancer has spread.
